Heavy Equipment
The Shavano Conservation District owns a John Deere scraper and employs a heavy equipment operator. These services are available to landowners who need land leveling done on their property in preparation for installing conservation practices such as concrete ditches, pond building, etc. These services are offered at a reduced rate to assist the agricultural producer in his conservation efforts. Please contact us for more information and pricing if you are interested in land leveling. 


The Shavano Conservation District publishes a quarterly newsletter which is distributed by email to cooperators within and outside the District. Printed paper copies of the newsletter are available at the Montrose USDA Service Center.  The District offers advertising within the newsletter at a reasonable rate. Cost-Share Assistance 
The Shavano Conservation District has cost-share programs available to assist in the installation of conservation practices. 

The Shavano Conservation District has educational information available for schools, groups, and individuals. 
Conservation education workshops and presentations are also available.  The district helps with many education projects and has scholarships available for youth and teachers for some of the conservation education programs.  Contact the District's Education Coordinator, Mendy Stewart for more information.
